Eagles fan Amy Rannabargar, a student at La Salle University, made an unexpected discovery during the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl parade. Toward the end of the celebration, she came across an old-school Eagles starter jacket hanging on a light post near the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
At first, Rannabargar thought someone had left it behind. “I thought, oh no, someone left their jacket,” she told NBC10. But when she checked the pockets, she found a note inside that revealed the jacket’s true purpose.
The note read: “If found, do not return. This jacket belongs to you! I found this jacket on the night of the Super Bowl in 2018 and it only felt right to release it back into the city when the Eagles won again. Enjoy the jacket. I hope you get the opportunity to release it back into the world with another SB win soon. Go Birds.”
Realizing that the jacket was intentionally left behind, Rannabargar was surprised and excited by the unique tradition. She shared her findings on social media, and the story quickly gained attention.
“I posted it on my Facebook page and then decided to share it on the Philadelphia Eagles fan page because I knew everyone would get a kick out of it. I did not expect it to spread the way that it did, but I love that the joy has spread like that,” she said.

The jacket’s story traces back to 2018, the night of Super Bowl 52 when the Eagles secured their first championship by defeating the New England Patriots. The original owner found the jacket that night and, years later, decided to pass it along when the Eagles won again.
Now, in 2025, the jacket has found a new home with Rannabargar, who is eager to continue the tradition. She has already decided that if the Eagles win another Super Bowl, she will pay it forward by passing the jacket on to someone else.

“Next Super Bowl, I want to pay it forward,” she said, embracing the mystery and excitement behind the jacket’s journey.
So far, the original owner has not come forward, but Rannabargar is enjoying her temporary connection to Eagles history. She admitted that she plans to wear the jacket once or twice before eventually finding a way to pass it on. “Now that I feel like people would be on the hunt for it, I need to find a good hiding spot for it,” she said.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl parade was filled with unforgettable moments. Among them, Eagles VP Howie Roseman was struck in the head by a beer can, causing a cut on his forehead. Additionally, rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean accidentally cut his eyebrow while celebrating with a beer can.
The Philadelphia Eagles and their passionate fans were in high spirits on February 9 as they celebrated their dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
