According to police, Norman Reedus’ son was apprehended on Saturday morning for assault in Manhattan.
When police responded to a 911 call about an attack at 8:40 a.m. near W. 16th St. and Eighth Ave. in Chelsea, they discovered a 33-year-old woman with minor injuries to her neck and legs. Mingus Reedus, 25, was charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
The woman was taken by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where her condition was stable.
On Saturday night, Reedus’ arraignment at Manhattan Criminal Court was still pending.
The young fashion model’s encounter with the police is not the first time. Reedus, who was 21 at the time, was charged with misdemeanor assault in September 2021 after he allegedly slugged a 24-year-old lady one evening at Mulberry and Grand Streets during the Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy.
At the time, Reedus told the Daily News that there had been a misunderstanding. According to him, the woman he was accused of assaulting looked intoxicated, and her friends were the ones who attacked him after they physically collided with his group during the festival. He said that he unintentionally struck the woman when he threw out his arm for self-defense.
He told The News that it was instinct. I was responding to them swarming me and worried for my group’s safety.
