Update: Thunderstorms with damaging winds in Middlesex and Somerset counties Monday – gusts up to 60 mph

The National Weather Service issued a revised severe thunderstorm warning for Middlesex and Somerset counties on Monday at 4:50 p.m., which is in force until 5:15 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph could be expected, so residents should be ready.

“At 4:50 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over North Brunswick, or over New Brunswick, moving northeast at 20 mph,” according to the meteorological service. “Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.”
