Ultra MAGA hardliners blast ‘major problem’ in Trump’s bill

As Republican leadership looks to move President Donald Trump’s large, attractive package through the Senate by next week, a number of House Freedom Caucus members criticized a significant flaw in the bill on Thursday.

Reps. Andy Harris (R-Md.), Chip Roy (R-Texas), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), Josh Brecheen (R-Okla.), Keith Self (R-Texas), Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.), and Mary Miller (R-Ill.) all joined forces against the bill’s clean energy tax credits for consumers in an opinion piece for Newsweek. The bill has a self-imposed deadline of July 4 to reach Trump’s desk.
