According to authorities, a teenage shooter opened fire on a rival in Times Square early Saturday, leaving three people—including a 65-year-old man—hospitalized.

Following the 1:20 a.m. shooting near the intersection of W. 44th St. and Eighth Ave., NYPD officers on duty at the Crossroads of the World who heard the gunfire rushed over and captured the suspected shooter, a 17-year-old boy.

The suspect was still awaiting charges on Saturday.

According to authorities, the older kid was struck in the foot by the 19-year-old man who drew a revolver and began shooting at the teen while they were arguing at the corner.

According to police, bullets also struck a 65-year-old man standing close, who was struck in the left flank, and an 18-year-old lady, who was injured in the neck.

Whether any of the victims were together when the shooting began was not immediately apparent.

All three were transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where they received minor medical attention.

According to police, the shooter’s gun was found at the site.

After the shooting, terrified customers can be seen fleeing past the Hard Rock Caf in videos posted on X.

After arriving on the scene, dozens of police officers focused on a gray SUV bearing business license plates. Two women were seen being escorted by officers from the back of the car on camera. One of the women appears distressed, and the other is carrying a little cardboard tray filled with Starbucks beverages.

For several hours, the car stayed at the site with its doors open while police surrounded the area.

The 19-year-old victim was seen on camera being carried to an ambulance that was waiting. He had bandages on his left ankle and foot.

Police used red cones to identify evidence from the renowned Times Square eatery Carmine’s as the area was cleaned.

The violence on Saturday coincides with the NYPD celebrating a 23% decrease in shootings this year, from 649 to 500 as of last Sunday, according to police. According to NYPD data, homicides decreased by 25% as well, from 241 at same time last year to 179.
