Tekashi 6ix9ine’s close friend and beauty influencer from New York, Ariela La Langosta, was discovered dead inside her vehicle on the Cross County Parkway earlier this week.
According to the Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 33-year-old model, whose true name is Ariela Mejia-Polanco, was shot many times before her body was found on Sunday morning behind the wheel of her car. Just after eight in the morning, according to the police, Ariela’s car was found in Mount Vernon, close to Broad Street, on the eastbound shoulder of the parkway.
According to a news release from the Westchester County Police Department, preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was probably the victim of assault and that her death was not an isolated incident.
It added that investigators from the General Investigations Unit are still looking into the killing. Due to that ongoing investigation, additional details are not being disclosed at this time.
In 2023, Ariela, who has over 560,000 Instagram followers, appeared in the Tekashi 6ix9ine sWapae music video.
After learning of his friend’s passing, the rapper honored her in a series of Instagram stories, stating in one post that she was the queen of New York in Spanish. He also said she was like a sister to him and that she supported him through everything.
“New York will never be the same,” Tekashi continued.I cherished you.
Ariela’s workplace, Ikon New York, a restaurant and disco lounge in Manhattan, also paid tribute to the influencer on social media.
According to the restaurant, she was a bright, modest spirit with boundless energy who could brighten whatever space she walked into. All of us will miss her terribly. Please take a moment to adore and cherish the people you care about. Life is valuable.
In a message on Instagram, Queens nightclub Starlets of New York also lamented Ariela’s passing, describing her as a lovely friend, devoted mother, and daughter whose brightness and enthusiasm brightened every space she walked into.
