The first teaser from “
Deliver Me from Nowhere
,” an upcoming Bruce
Springsteen
biopic starring
Jeremy Allen White
, was released Tuesday ahead of the full trailer, which is scheduled to be released Wednesday.
It’s a relatively simple one, featuring a cassette tape playing the singer-songwriter’s “
Colts Neck — Demo
,” an acoustic version of 1984’s “Born In The U.S.A.” There was an assortment of demos Springsteen recorded during the fall of 1981 at his home in Colts Neck. Six demos of “Born In The U.S.A” were done, laying out the verses, choruses, and guitar parts.
Springsteen, 75, weighed in on Allen White’s
portrayal of him
back in January during an interview on
SiriusXM’s E Street Radio
.
“He’s got an interpretation of me that I think, A, the fans will deeply recognize, and he’s just done a great job, so I’ve had a lot of fun,” said the singer. “I’ve had a lot of fun being on the set when I can get there.”
“Deliver Me From Nowhere” is written and directed by Scott Cooper (“Black Mass”, Antlers”). The film is based on Warren Zanes’ 2023 biography of the same name.
It chronicles the process of how Springsteen recorded his sixth album, “Nebraska” (1982), in which the artist initially laid down the songs on a four-track recorder in his bedroom. Various Jersey locations such as Springsteen’s hometown of
Asbury Park
, Bayonne, and Rahway were used as backdrops for the film itself.
