According to police on Saturday, a bearded bruiser used a metal pipe to beat a 67-year-old stranger during a fight outside an East Harlem deli.

In an attempt to identify the attack suspect, police made surveillance photos public.

According to the victim, the stranger confronted him at around 9 p.m. on August 3 as he was outside a deli on Pleasant Ave. close to E. 117th St.

The suspect grabbed a metal pipe and hit the older man in the head and back with it as they were fighting, then he stormed out after punching the victim in the face.

The nature of the argument between the two guys was not immediately revealed.

During the beating, the victim’s head was deeply cut. After he dialed 911, EMS took him to Metropolitan Hospital, where he received treatment for minor wounds.

His assailant was last seen traveling south on Pleasant Avenue and is described as being between 5′ 10″ and 6′ 1. He was dressed in black sneakers, grey trousers, and a black sweater at the time of the attack.

There have been no arrests.

Police searching the area have found security footage of the assailant, who was seen pacing the corner and spitting on the pavement, seeming upset.

The video reveals that the guy had a black bag with a water bottle protruding from a side pocket at one point during the assault.

Police are requesting that anyone with information on the whereabouts of this individual contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. Every call will be kept private.
