In a shocking incident in San Antonio, Texas, a 26-year-old man, Isaac Rivas, allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend multiple times after a conversation about ending their relationship. The shooting occurred late Wednesday night after the pair had met for dinner at a Chili’s Grill & Bar.

The woman, also 26 years old, was reportedly left with life-threatening injuries after being shot in several areas of her body, including the groin, hip, abdomen, and back, as she attempted to escape from Rivas.

According to authorities, the incident began when the woman told Rivas it was time for them to “go their separate ways.” Despite having ended their relationship some weeks earlier, the two had been meeting up as friends on a regular basis.

On this particular evening, after dinner at Chili’s, the woman tried to end the night by driving Rivas home. However, Rivas became angry when she asked where he wanted to be dropped off, leading him to make threatening comments, saying, “It’s going to get f—ing ugly if you don’t take me where you’re going,” as per the police affidavit.

The woman, fearing for her safety, drove to the Nite Owlz Bar on Rigsby Road and ran inside to avoid further confrontation. Rivas allegedly followed her into the bar, demanding she return to her vehicle. When the woman tried to defend herself with a bottle of pepper spray, it malfunctioned. Rivas reportedly taunted her, asking if she was “going to do something about it.” The woman, feeling trapped, apologized to him.

After leaving the bar and heading back to her truck, the woman attempted to flee from Rivas by running away with her back turned. It was then that Rivas allegedly opened fire, shooting at her 11 times, hitting her with at least four bullets. In the aftermath, he fled the scene but was later captured by police when his mother allegedly came to pick him up.

Rivas was arrested and booked at the Bexar County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is expected to appear in court this week. Meanwhile, the victim remains in critical condition, and her identity has not been publicly released as of Monday. The details surrounding the case have stunned the local community, highlighting the dangers of escalating conflicts and the extreme consequences that can arise from them.
