Samsung has many features that give it an edge over the iPhone, but its phones have never used MagSafe without a case. A fresh leak suggests several first-party accessories, including a ‘Magnet Case,’ may change that.
According to famous tipster Max Jambor, the Samsung Galaxy S25 will release with a line of magnetic and non-magnetic accessories, including the Standing Grip Case, Kindsuit Case, Ultra Clear Case, Silicone Case, Rugged Case, and Magnet Case. He also mentioned Samsung will have a magnetic wallet, although we don’t know its name.
Apple’s MagSafe charging has used magnets for years, thus Samsung is behind on accessories. Oppo Find X8 magnetic accessories were also good. Samsung’s participation is welcome, especially since most of its magnetic accessories have been offered by third parties.
Many Samsung Galaxy S25 leaks have originated from accessory manufacturers, thus these will likely be available for purchase at the same time (or before) the phone launches.
Why magnets? Although MagSafe is Apple-exclusive, its mechanisms are not. Magnetic strips surround the phone’s charging coil on the rear. These magnets position the phone on a wireless charger for faster, more efficient charging. It is easier than plugging in a cord every night before bed.
Remember, Samsung has never had this technology in-house. Qi2 wireless charging is supported by Samsung’s magnetic cover for the Galaxy S25.
As enthusiastic as we are about the Galaxy S25’s arrival, Samsung may soon reveal something even more intriguing. Yonhap News reports that the Galaxy S25 Unpacked event in early 2025 may unveil smart eyewear. Augmented reality glasses are planned to look like regular glasses and weigh 50 grams, or a tenth of a pound. The average spectacles weigh 20–40 grams, therefore these wouldn’t be much heavier.
Don’t expect an immediate launch. Only the unveiling is anticipated for January, with a third-quarter 2025 public debut likely. Samsung wants to hire additional workers and “strengthen leadership in related departments” to maintain progress. It would be Samsung’s second recent wearables campaign. In July 2024, Samsung announced the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Watch 7.
You definitely have at least 50 apps on your phone, if not more, but you probably only use 10 regularly. With One UI 7, Samsung’s Edge Panels feature, which made it easy to access your favorite apps, is going away.
Samsung informed consumers via email that Edge Panels will no longer work with One UI 7, and users shared the email on X. However, it’s not as easy as it seems.
Many leaks and rumors have surrounded the Samsung Galaxy S25 colors. SIM card slot photographs confirm the color selections again. Previous tipsters Ice Universe, Ross Young, and Evan Blass suggested various options.
