NJ.com’s Mount Rushmore Project, in which we nominate the greatest coaches and athletes in history from a few high schools and then solicit your votes for the top four, is ready to start its eleventh year in a row.
Our reporters are currently working hard to find the greatest coaches and players of all time at three different schools. They’re dusting over old yearbooks, creating lists of nominees, mounting Walls of Fame, and chatting to the seasoned fans you see at every game.
We will then ask you to vote for your top four choices after posting the pictures, biographies, and accomplishments of about 25 nominees from each school beginning on Tuesday, July 8, and continuing for three Tuesdays in a row. In addition to posting the winning four at the conclusion of the week, we’ll also share our own selections for fun. The Rushmore treatment is that.
The Rushmore schools and calendar for this year are as follows:
-
Week 1 – July 8-14 – Columbia
-
Week 2 – July 15-21 – Mendham
-
Week 3 – July 22-28 – Ocean City
114 schools have already received the Rushmore treatment as the 11th consecutive summer of the Mount Rushmore Project begins. Below are links to all of those schools, along with your and our selections.
