Orlando: Two of the most horrific crimes of the twenty-first century took place in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Apartheid is what Israel does to the Palestinian people. The Soweto township in South Africa is comparable to the Gaza Strip. While no Western nation is criticizing Israel for its crimes, the world has a front-row ticket to genocide. You don’t hear about Israel being blocked from the SWIFT financial payment system or subject to tariffs or sanctions. There appears to be a blind-eye attitude toward human suffering in Muslim nations.
Since October 7, 2023, over 56,000 Palestinians have been slain and thousands more have gone missing in Gaza. Palestinian women and children have been killed in greater numbers than any other group, and this is no coincidence. Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, is an experienced leader. He is destroying the Palestinian people’s future by murdering mothers and children. It’s a benefit to accomplish two goals at once, as children often cling to their mothers. The world would go crazy if Israel killed 56,000 dogs. The value of a Palestinian life must be lower than that of a dog. What is the threshold—100,000 or one million—before the genocide is eventually acknowledged?
Clearing Gaza for development is one of Netanyahu’s top priorities. Israel is engaging in ethnic cleansing, which is against international law, if Palestinians are not allowed to remain in Gaza. With Israeli settlements growing steadily, Palestinians in the West Bank aren’t doing any better. Does Israel not fall under the rule of law? It is the only country to which the United States submits! If I didn’t know any better, I would assume that the United States was formerly an Israeli colony rather than a British one.Pitts, Lee R.

Dershowitz lashes out in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania, at what he callsAn original complaint at a time when the evidence is undermining Zionist victimization claims on a daily basis is “Antisemitism by omission: new, real & dangerous” (op-ed, July 6). Bias in this new formulation need not be explicitly stated; rather, it is evident in the inability to censor speech that criticizes Israel’s unjustified use of violence against the Palestinian people. In Israel, combat deaths are not one of the main causes of death. Although it was embarrassing for Israeli intelligence, October 7 was by no means an existential threat. Having previously defended child pornography as free speech, Dershowitz now appears to be seeking to ban any voices that could be harmful to a Jewish college student’s mental health. Southfield, Michigan: For presenting the HEAR Act Improvements of 2025, I would like to thank Rep. Jerry Nadler and his House colleagues, Reps. Laurel Lee, Scott Fitzgerald, Maggie Goodlander, and Jamie Raskin. Our work at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills, Mich., in partnership with survivor Clara Garbon-Radnoti, unearthed 180 microfilm reels that documented Nazi-looted artwork from over 3,700 Jewish households in Hungary. Among the works still in the possession of the Hungarian National Gallery and Budapest’s Museum of Fine Arts are masterpieces by El Greco, Lucas Cranach, and Mihly Munk csy. These families require ongoing access to U.S. courts since the 2016 HEAR Act is scheduled to expire in January and because of legal obstacles brought about by the Supreme Court’s Republic of Hungary v. Simon decision. By passing S. 1884, the sunset provision will be removed, gaps will be closed, and claims based on facts rather than technicalities will be permitted. Flushing I was reminded of the column by S.E. Cupp (There is no Iran truth from the liar in chief, June 26) in which she quoted humorist Josh Billings as I listened to Trump describe his recently passed One Big Beautiful Bill as extremely popular, despite polling showing otherwise: 55% opposed the bill, 29% supported it, and 16% were unsure. Some people can’t tell the truth without lying because they are so dependent on hyperbole. She notes that during his first term as president, fact-checkers at The Washington Post recorded 30,573 incorrect or misleading claims, or an average of 21 every day. Among his many other lies, Trump has lied on January 6, the 2020 election, Gaza, Russia, migrants, tariffs, our friends, members of Congress, and a host of other topics. The driver of the BMW creating havoc on the Belt Parkway and many other drivers who operate these high-performance automobiles drive them recklessly while exceeding the speed limit. Innocent lives are put in harm s way due to the selfishness of these fools who think they are playing video games on their PlayStation. Enough is enough.
