N.J. restaurant told customers to ‘f— off’ on TikTok. It didn’t go well.

A well-known Jersey Shore eatery is facing criticism after a co-owner ordered patrons to f— off in a social media video.

The well-known brunch destination Taylor Sam’s, which has branches in Brick and St. Petersburg, Florida, just launched a new site in Bay Head. In a TikTok video that has since been removed from the restaurant’s official account but can still be seen in Facebook posts, a staff member reprimanded patrons who expressed dissatisfaction with the expensive brunch place.

An employee stated in the video, “We just had two wealthy people say they’re never coming back here because our prices are double what (redacted restaurant’s) prices were.” “It’s very unfortunate because we’re local,” they added. “That’s unfortunate,” I said.

The footage subsequently suggests that the redacted eatery the patrons were referring to was Dune Grass Cafe, which had previously occupied the area.

Whoa, after hearing the owner’s comments regarding Dune Grass, I won’t be visiting Taylor Sam’s.

They were elderly. The wealthier you get, the less money you want to give away, in my opinion. I assume you make a lot of money somehow. In the video, the worker said. You keep your money to yourself. They’re never returning for the $40 breakfast.

Shortly after, the same worker is spotted discussing the dissatisfied patrons with co-owner Dawn Spivak in the kitchen.

Have you inquired about their position? In the video, Spivak addressed the staffer, saying, “This is Bay Head, baby.” The quality and flavor of our dishes are doubled. You can f— off and double go.

The video was taken from TikTok and placed on the Point Pleasant Beach, Boro & Bay Head Neighborhood Group Facebook page, which attracted the most criticism online.

We adore Taylor Sam’s in Brick, too. One Facebook user commented, “They just lost my business.”

Another person commented, “I have worked at Bay Head for years, and we never had this attitude toward our customers.”

Co-owner Scott Spivak apologized and provided an explanation when NJ Advance reporters contacted him on Wednesday.

To obtain final permission for films, we typically collaborate with our marketing manager, but circumstances were beyond our control. Co-owner Scott Spivak told NJ Advance Media, “My son got a throat infection while we were opening.” Due to a misunderstanding with the marketing man, he believed it was okay to proceed when it never should have.

Dawn Spivak and Nick George, owner of Edgly Marketing Group, assisted in creating the apologetic video that Taylor Sam’s posted.

Dawn Spivak clarified in the video that they were aiming for a distinct TikTok demographic. She said that the local community page where the video was shared did not have their intended audience.

George expressed regret, claiming that in the TikTok video, he gave Dawn Spivak a portion of the line.

However, once it started to spark further criticism from users who said the apology wasn’t sincere, that apology video was also taken down.

It’s been difficult, and we’re personally apologizing to everyone in town,” Scott Spivak said. We apologize once more. We don’t think of people that way, so it wasn’t hilarious.

In 2013, Taylor Sam’s first Brick site debuted. The Dune Grass Cafe was replaced with the new facility in Bay Head, which opened last Friday. The eatery is well-known for its brunch fare, which includes salads, breakfast sandwiches, and egg dishes.

A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich costs $8.49, while their 2+2=4 plate, which includes two eggs of any kind, two bacon strips, two sausage patties, and two buttermilk pancakes with a side of home fries, costs $19.99.
