Martin Luther King Jr.’s daughter enters spat between Angel Reese and RG3

Bernice King

, the daughter of civil rights activist

Martin Luther King Jr.

, has stepped into the online dispute between Chicago Sky forward

Angel Reese

and Fox Sports analyst

Robert Griffin III

, telling Griffin to end the disagreement.

King, who is also the CEO of the

Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change

, was monitoring the back-and-forth between the two that began Thursday morning, when Griffin’s response sparked new controversy.

King

replied to Griffin’s post

, urging him to take his own advice and talk to Reese and her family.

“I agree,” King said. “That’s why I suggest you call Angel Reese and stop posting about her.”

Griffin claimed people in Reese’s inner circle had previously contacted him to validate his criticism of her rivalry with Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark.

“I never attacked her or her family when I stated and backed up with clear basketball evidence that Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark,”

Griffin posted on X

, formerly Twitter. “It’s sports. Everybody won’t like each other. People in Angel’s inner circle called me and told me I was right.”

Reese

quickly disputed Griffin’s claim

in her own X post, suggesting he was fabricating the claim for attention.

“Lying on this app when everybody knows the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work,” Reese posted.

Griffin defended his comments in a

reply on X

, reiterating that he did speak with them and that he was not going to change his stance to “protect feelings.” He later made another post asking for everyone to unite.

“We need more people ready to build bridges between us and not walls to divide us,” Griffin said. “The only way to find unity is talking through our differences in opinion and life experiences to find the best way forward.”

King, who has long advocated for direct dialogue to resolve conflicts, frequently uses social media to promote peaceful communication and bridge-building in public disputes.
