But we’re getting awfully close. Next week is the cutoff for the state football playoffs, which begins the weekend of Oct. 27-28.
Following a 4-2 victory over Montville to start the season, the Boys Baseball team has been progressing well. After winning significant games over Delbarton and Top 20-ranked Seton Hall Prep, the team had a 6-2 record at the time of writing. They were hoping to recover from a defeat to Montville on April 19 in order to maintain their winning season.
With a decisive victory over Montville in the season opener, the club established the winning tone. Randolph took the lead after Stokoe hit a ground rule double in the top of the eighth inning as the game entered extra innings.
Randolph overcame Mount Olive in the following game, winning 11–8 after falling down 5-2. After that, the Rams defeated Roxbury and Chatham with ease. The team was ready to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to West Morris, and they succeeded in doing so by defeating Roxbury 13–7.
A season-highlight victory over Delbarton came next. The Rams overcame a 3-0 deficit after the first inning to win 12–10. The fact that Randolph defeated Delbarton for the first time since 2014 made this victory more memorable.
