Hit-and-run driver mows down man, 36, in Brooklyn crash

According to authorities, a hit-and-run vehicle murdered a 36-year-old man who was crossing a Brooklyn street on Friday.

According to police, it was the second hit-and-run in the five boroughs in a 24-hour period.

At around 10 p.m. on Thursday, a gray Ford struck the victim as he was crossing the street close to the Broadway Junction, which is located near the intersection of Broadway and East New York Ave. in Ocean Hill.

According to police, the victim passed away shortly after being taken by EMS to Brookdale University Hospital. His name wasn’t made public right away.

According to police, the driver of the Ford drove off without stopping. On Saturday, he was still out and about.

On the same day, a hit-and-run motorist in a Ford Mustang caused a crazy crash at the intersection of E. 149th St. and Courtlandt Ave. in the Bronx’s Melrose neighborhood, injuring six people.

According to police, the driver struck a person while attempting to turn right onto Courtlandt Ave. while the Mustang was speeding east down E. 149th St.

According to officials, the Mustang lost control, smashed into a scaffolding, then struck five additional pedestrians who were standing close by after vaulting a curb.

Crawling out of the twisted wreck, the driver and his companion fled on foot. On Friday, the couple was still at large.

According to police, all of the pedestrians were transported by EMS to Lincoln Hospital, where they received treatment for minor wounds.

According to authorities, as of Thursday, 55 pedestrians had been killed by cars while crossing city streets, which is eight fewer than the 63 pedestrian deaths that were reported at this time last year.
