Former Georgetown star breaks down in tears after landing with reigning NBA champs

After being chosen with the 15th pick in Wednesday’s NBA Draft by the recently crowned Oklahoma City Thunder, Thomas Sorber broke down in tears.

Tenneh, Sorber’s mother, raised him and his two older brothers in Trenton, New Jersey, after fleeing Liberia’s civil war in 1999 at the age of 28. When Thomas was six years old, his father, Peter, a former soccer player who also served as his coach, died of colon cancer.
