Elon Musk just proved his Trump bromance is still dead

Is the split irreversible?

After tearing President Donald Trump’s huge, gorgeous bill for the second time in two days on Monday, tech entrepreneur Elon Musk may believe so.

Musk blasted the GOP’s expansive domestic policy package in Aposton X for its extravagant spending, which would raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion—the biggest increase in American history. He declared that it is clear that our nation is a one-party system, which he referred to as the Porky Pig Party!

Musk wrote, “It’s time for a new political party that genuinely cares about the people.”

This bill’s outrageous spending, which raises the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS, makes it clear that we live in a one-party nation—the Porky Pig Party!A new political party that genuinely cares about the people is long overdue.

As the national debt exceeds $37 trillion, Musk asked members of the House Freedom Caucus, a far-right group in Congress, in a different post how they could back a bill that would be a vote for debt enslavement. In an opinion piece published last week, some members of the caucus criticized a section of the plan related to the clean energy tax credits, which are anticipated to be phased away beginning in 2026.

Musk’s scathing criticism coincides with senators continuing to vote on an endless number of changes to the GOP’s expansive domestic policy megabill, which was originally approved by the Senate over the weekend. This is known as a vote-a-rama. Only two Republicans, Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), joined Democrats in opposing the bill in a 51-49 vote.

Republicans are working feverishly to get the 940-page One Big Beautiful Bill Act to Trump’s desk by July 4.

For the first time in weeks, Musk also expressed his disapproval of the measure on Saturday, writing on X that the most recent version will destroy millions of American jobs and seriously hurt our nation strategically.

utterly damaging and insane. He added that it seriously harms industries of the future while giving favors to industries of the past.

Over the past few weeks, the CEO of Tesla has been a vocal opponent of the president’s bill, a position that has led to a public dispute between the two men in the Oval Office and on social media.

Musk initially claimed that the bill undercuts the goals of the Department of Government Efficiency, a nongovernmental organization that seeks to reduce the size of the federal workforce and budget, in an interview with CBS News that aired around the end of May. Following a flurry of posts criticizing the law, Musk—who has since left the administration—went on to refer to the legislation as a repulsive abomination.

Trump claimed he was not especially interested in speaking with a man who had gone insane after he received increasingly harsh criticism, to which Musk responded with a now-deleted huge bomb accusation against the president. In an interview with the New York Post earlier this month, the president stated that while he did not rule out making amends with the billionaire, it was not his top priority.

Look, Trump told the Post, I don’t have any animosity. The fact that whatever occurred truly caught me off guard. He pursued a bill that is amazing. In fact, I believe he feels terrible about saying it.

Trump stated on Sunday Morning Futures on Fox News that Musk had been a little agitated, which was inappropriate.

Trump remarked, “I haven’t spoken to him much.” However, I believe Elon to be a great man, and I have no doubt that he will succeed in everything. He is an intelligent man.

Trump also brought up the fact that during the 2024 election cycle, the richest guy in the world ran alongside him. Musk contributed $288 million to help elect Trump and other Republican candidates to office, according to The Washington Post.
