According to officials, the body of a 47-year-old man from New Jersey who vanished in Iowa last week has been found in the Missouri River.

According to a statement from the department, police in Sioux City, Iowa, recognized Hillsborough resident Akshay Arora on Tuesday.

At 5:30 p.m. on August 6, Arora’s coworkers reported him missing after he failed to appear for a flight. At 5 a.m., he was last heard from.

More searches were conducted along the water after a submerged car with no occupants was retrieved from the river at around 9 p.m. that day, according to officials. According to KTIV.com, the rental car’s GPS pinged near the river, therefore the area was searched.

The search went on over the day until a man’s body was recovered from the river close to the boat ramp at 1280 Larsen Park Road at 5:05 p.m. on Friday.

Authorities later recognized the body as belonging to Arora.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, police claimed there was no sign of foul play.
