An NFL story from the Associated Press is as follows:

A week following surgery, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love reports that the thumb on his non-throwing hand is feeling well.

Love indicated he would be able to play if the Packers had a regular-season game this week, but he was only allowed to take part in 7-on-7 drills during Thursday’s joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks. Love has been heavily taping his left thumb while he practices this week.

Love said, “It feels good right now.”

As the Packers wrap up training camp and get ready for their Sept. 7 opener against the Detroit Lions, the health of his receiving group is a little less certain because rookie third-round pick Savion Williams (hamstring), Jayden Reed (foot), and Dontayvion Wicks (calf) are all limited to varying degrees.

Love only completed three of twelve red zone drills against Seattle’s defense on Thursday, which may be explained by Green Bay’s receiver injury problems.

According to Love, those guys have been doing a fantastic job of remaining locked in on the side. They’re obviously missing a lot of reps, which is terrible, but I believe we’ll be ready to go as soon as they return.

Coach Mike Macdonald stated that rookie third-round pick Jalen Milroe will start the whole preseason game on Saturday against Green Bay while Sam Darnold rests in preparation for the regular-season opener against the San Francisco 49ers on September 7.

Macdonald stated, “I think it’s just a great opportunity for him to get great experience.” All rookies require experience and repetition. Jalen is immediately there. He is quite thrilled about the chance. He will perform admirably. Play ball the way you know how, go out, and run the offense.

During red zone drills, the Seattle defense and Green Bay’s offense engaged in two quick-fire exchanges. Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV, Packers right lineman Zach Tom, and Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon were among the key players.

Tom later claimed that he was expelled from the joint practice for punching someone.

“I just reacted when I saw someone to my left get hit while we were in our huddle,” Tom added. That’s all there is to it, basically.

Seahawks defensive end Leonard Williams was irritated by the two teams’ continuing jawing long after practice was over.

Williams stated, “I didn’t appreciate them coming to our sideline when practice was over and we had already broken the huddle.” People were coming over, and our troops were on our side, and their guys were on theirs. These combined practices are challenging because such incidents are inevitable. Even though you don’t want it to, it does happen. We make every effort to stay away from it. Yes, it wasn’t appreciated by me.

One of the players engaging in some trash-talking at the conclusion of the session was cornerback Keisean Nixon of the Packers. According to Nixon, fights that break out during combined sessions shouldn’t come as a huge surprise.

According to Nixon, “I know the coaches won’t like it, but it’s just part of the deal.” That’s the way it is. The number of alphas on the field is excessive.

NOTES: Despite missing most of camp due to a painful foot, Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker Jr. participated fully in Thursday’s practice. The Seahawks’ center and right guard starters will be revealed next week, according to Macdonald. Christian Haynes, Josh Jones, Olu Oluwatimi, Anthony Bradford, and Jalen Sundell are vying for the two berths. The Packers S When Evan Williams intercepted a long ball from Darnold during two-minute drills on Thursday, it was one of the best plays of the session. Packers tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft, as well as Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, were other notables. On Thursday, Packers S Xavier McKinney took part in individual drills. The WholeDuring training camp, Proselection has been battling a calf problem. “I feel fine,” McKinney remarked. As previously stated, I will be prepared to leave. While I’m not actually practicing outside, I’m currently just making sure that my wind is where it should be and keeping up with my sharpening. That’s all I truly need, then.
