According to several sources, Diego Borella, an assistant director on Emily in Paris, passed away after falling on the set of the well-liked Netflix series in Italy. His age was 47.
Darren Star, the creative force behind popular shows like Sex and the City, was working on Borella’s romantic comedy series when he unexpectedly passed out while getting ready for a final sequence that was being filmed at the Hotel Danieli in Venice.
Around 7:15 p.m., first responders arrived and made an unsuccessful attempt to resuscitate Borella.At the scene, he was declared dead.
A doctor subsequently verified that Borella most likely passed away from an unexpected heart attack, according to local publication La Repubblica.
According to The Independent, the Venice health service reported that their ambulance came at 18:42 [on Thursday night].Medical professionals tried to revive [Borella]. However, all efforts ultimately came to nothing. He was declared dead at about 19.30.
There aren’t many further details available.
Following the tragedy, the show’s production was momentarily halted, but it has now restarted. The show’s title character will be moving to Rome for the forthcoming fifth season.
At first, the shoot was supposed to be finished by Monday.
