Federal prosecutors announced Wednesday that three individuals from Philadelphia had been taken into custody in connection with the suspected theft of over $2 million from a Brink’s guarded vehicle.
In relation to the June 2025 heist, which authorities suspect may have been an inside job, all three men—Daishaun Daisha Hughes-Murchison, 30, Brian Wallace, and Trayvine Jackson, 31—are charged with robbery interfering with interstate commerce and using a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime.
According to court filings, the incident happened on the morning of June 21 as the armored vehicle was traveling along its planned path when it approached a Home Depot shop on the 2500 block of Castor Ave. in Philadelphia.
Two individuals with AR-style rifles approached the driver of the armored car as he was moving down the store’s back alley.
According to authorities, the men came up behind the driver, pushed him to the ground, seized his keys and company-issued gun, and held him there while an accomplice got inside and took a sizable sum of money that belonged to Brinks Inc.
After that, the third man drove off in a silver Ford Fusion, while the other two men left the area in a black Hyundai Sonata.
Investigators then discovered that Wallace had hired the Hyundai and that Hughes-Murchison owned the Ford. Wallace was captured on surveillance footage entering the Ford Fusion and settling into the passenger seat after returning the vehicle a few hours after the heist.
The criminal complaint claims that during the heist, Wallace and Hughes-Murchison were near the Home Depot, and Wallace and Jackson were near the vehicle rental location, based on cellphone records.
Authorities were informed by Brinks personnel throughout the investigation that Jackson had previously worked for the corporation but had been let go after an internal investigation.
Last week, all three defendants made their first court appearances. According to officials, Jackson has been placed under arrest and the other two males will have their detention hearings later this week.
