One man suffered unspecified injuries on Thursday when the Royal Caribbeanship’s water slide failed.

According to ABC News, the incident happened on the cruise liner Icon of the Seas when the acrylic glass panel cracked as the unnamed man was utilizing the slide.

The cruise ship did not disclose the extent of the man’s injuries, but reports indicate that his condition is stable.

Here are some further details regarding the injured visitor and the broken slide.

What caused the water slide on Royal Caribbean s Icon of the Seas to malfunction and injure a passenger?

A video shows the passengers screaming, “Stop the slide!” as the slideshow breaks down. Stop the slide! while water gushed from the glass-shattered side.

Regarding the injured individual on board, Royal Caribbean issued a statement.

The cruise line informed People that our crew treated an adult passenger after acrylic glass on a water slide broke off while the passenger was going through it.

They stated that the visitor is receiving treatment for his wounds.

According to officials, the slide has been closed for the rest of the ship’s voyage until an investigation is conducted.

“The company has not provided a timeline for reopening and is investigating whether the failure was due to a manufacturing defect, installation issue, or an unexpected impact,” Royal Caribbean stated in a statement to UNILAD.

This Saturday, the ship will dock back in Miami.
