According to reports, Jennifer Lopez was denied access to Chanel’s store in Istanbul earlier this week, just one day before she was scheduled to perform in the Turkish city as part of her summer tour.
According to Turkiye Today, the 56-year-old singer of “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” was shopping at the upscale mall Istinye Park on Monday when a Chanel security guard informed her that the store was completely booked.
The Bronx-born A-lister said, cool as a very famous, very affluent cucumber, “Okay, no problem.”
According to local business publication Patronlar D. Nyasi, Lopez later turned down an invitation from staff members to buy at Chanel. According to reports, she proceeded to spend tens of thousands of dollars at Celine and other designer retailers.
A request for comment from the Daily News was not answered by a Lopez official.
Lopez’s Up All Night Tour included a performance at the Istanbul Festival at Yenikapi Festival Park the day after the incident was reported. Late last month, she also performed in Antalya, Turkey.
In order to promote her This Is Me Now album, which primarily focused on her reconciliation with Ben Affleck, Lopez notoriously canceled her THIS IS ME LIVE Tour one year before to the current tour.
The couple, who go by Bennifer informally, reconnected in the spring of 2021 after becoming engaged in the early 2000s. In the summer of 2022, they were married in two ceremonies, and on the second anniversary of the second wedding, Lopez filed for divorce. Earlier this year, the separation was formally formalized.
After four divorces from Affleck, Marc Anthony, Cris Judd, and Ojani Noa, as well as several engagements, Lopez quipped at her mid-July show in Bilbao, Spain, that she was done getting married.
