United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended a Texas businessman who owns a chain of eateries with President Trump themes.
Roland Beainy, the proprietor of Trump Burger, was permitted to stay in the United States till February 2024 after entering the nation as a non-immigrant in 2019. According to ICE officials, the 28-year-old Lebanese national was detained in May and released on bond in June to face immigration procedures.
Although pictures of the chain’s four locations released online feature the 79-year-old world leader who loves fast food, Beainy’s restaurants are not known to have any affiliations with the president or the Trump Organization.
“Roald Mehrez Beainy does not have any immigration benefits that prevented his arrest or removal from the United States, despite false claims to the contrary,” ICE said in a statement provided to the Daily News.
Since the 47th president took office in January, the Trump administration has prioritized limiting immigration to the United States and deporting those who are already in the country illegally.
Regarding Beainy’s case, ICE stated that it is dedicated to upholding the integrity of our country’s immigration system under the present administration by prosecuting anyone who enters the country illegally or stays longer than allowed. Regardless of your political views or the type of restaurant you own, this is true.
On Yelp!, where online activity was tracked because of the abrupt rise in media attention to that company page, Trump Burger has a three-star rating.
