The second phase of a $200 million premium rental apartment complex dubbed The Marqin Teaneck is currently under construction, with developers hoping to have it finished by the end of 2026.
In order to construct the second phase of its upscale rental community, Malas Developments purchased a 2.5-acre plot of land at 359 Alfred Ave. and demolished an old industrial structure there, according to a statement.
This month, the second building’s construction got underway.
The second structure, which will be six storeys tall and add to the 256-unit building at 329 Alfred Ave. that debuted earlier this year, will house 248 rental apartments.
According to a statement by Malas Development, the existing structure has apartments with a variety of studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts, including loft-style units on the top floor close to Route 4 west.
Rents for studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments, including loft-style residences on the top floor, range from $2,495 to $5,985 at 329 Alfred Ave. Today, the building is home to about 200 people.
Modern amenities found in Phase 1 apartments include walk-in closets, in-unit washers and dryers, spa-inspired baths, and opulent kitchens with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and soft-close cabinetry. Some apartments have kitchen islands, private balconies, and high ceilings.
Co-working spaces, private meeting rooms, resident lounges, a pet spa, concierge services, a fully furnished fitness center, and a manicured courtyard with a pool and fire pits are all available.
Secure entry, package lockers, bike storage, and on-site parking with EV charging complete the amenities.
Studio to three-bedroom residences with an upgraded amenity package that includes sauna and massage rooms, co-working spaces, a sport simulator, a landscaped courtyard with a pool, and a rooftop terrace will be available in the second phase, which was designed by CPA Architecture.
According to Malas, completion is planned for the fourth quarter of 2026.
The Shops at Riverside, downtown Englewood, the Cedar Lane shopping district, and cultural centers like Bergen PAC are all close to The Marq.
In addition to NJ Transit bus service to Manhattan, travelers may easily reach Routes 4, 80, and 95 from this site.
According to a statement from Mark Malas, managing member of Malas Development, the first building at The Marq has surpassed expectations in terms of leasing velocity and the general resident experience.
We’re proceeding with the next stage to finish the idea for a unified, high-end residential destination in this well-connected area of Teaneck since demand is still high,” he said.
