A 62-year-old man from Waupun died Thursday evening in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 151 near Chester, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Crash Occurred Near Railroad Crossing South of Highway 26
Deputies responded around 6 p.m. to the crash site approximately two miles south of State Highway 26. Preliminary reports indicate that a 2009 Lincoln, driven by the Waupun man, collided with a 2021 Icehouse Trailer that was attached to a Ford pickup truck.
Chain Reaction Crash Involved Stopped Vehicles
The Ford pickup, operated by a 42-year-old Loyal man, was stopped at a railroad crossing for a passing train when it was struck from behind by the Lincoln. The impact caused the Ford to hit the rear of a 2016 Chevy Suburban, which was also stopped. The Suburban was being driven by a 37-year-old man from Tampa, Florida.
Victim Pronounced Dead at the Scene
While the occupants of the Ford and Chevy were uninjured, the driver of the Lincoln was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details have been made public.
