21 Arrested in Major Houston County Drug Bust Linked to Metro-Atlanta Operation

Authorities in Houston County have identified 21 individuals arrested in a sweeping drug investigation that dismantled a multi-county trafficking operation and led to the seizure of over $5 million in drugs and cash.

According to Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards, all of the individuals face racketeering charges under Georgia’s RICO law, accused of participating in a criminal enterprise to distribute narcotics throughout Houston County and Central Georgia.

The arrests are the result of a coordinated effort between the Perry Police Department, Houston County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Atlanta Police.

Drugs and Cash Seized in Wide-Scale Operation

The bust uncovered staggering quantities of illicit drugs, including 76 pounds of marijuana, nearly 10 pounds of methamphetamine, 15 pounds of powder cocaine, 4.5 pounds of suspected fentanyl-laced ecstasy, and over 15 pounds of marijuana edibles. Authorities also seized over $200,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
