Man Arrested after Search Warrant Uncovers Cache of Narcotics and Weapons in Dallas

DALLAS, TX — A coordinated law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a 26-year-old man and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and firearms in South Dallas last week, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Officers executed a search warrant in the 3100 block of Harmon Street after receiving a tip from the Texas Department of Public Safety about suspected drug activity at a residence in the area.

Inside the home, investigators discovered the following –

  • Over five pounds of THC wax,
  • 16 pounds of marijuana,
  • 1.3 grams of Oxycodone,
  • 252.4 grams of THC edibles,
  • 2.8 grams of Adderall,
  • 8 bottles of Promethazine

They also found drug paraphernalia including digital scales, a packaging heat sealer, and related items. Authorities also recovered a rifle magazine, a pistol magazine with a speed loader, multiple surveillance cameras, and a DVR system.

While officers were conducting the search, 26-year-old Ricky Morrison allegedly drove toward the residence but sped away upon seeing police. Officers conducted a traffic stop after observing him fail to signal while turning. He was arrested without incident.

Morrison now faces multiple charges, including manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, failure to use a turn signal, and driving without a license. Authorities have not disclosed the nature of Morrison’s connection to the residence or the seized items.

“This operation shows how teamwork, inside and outside of our organization, can help protect our neighborhoods, so our communities can feel safer living, working, and simply going about their lives,” said Major Nathan Swyers of the Dallas Police Department.

Morrison’s mugshot was not available in the Dallas County jail roster as of press time.
