Miami Beach, FL – This year’s Spring Break celebrations in Miami Beach have once again descended into chaos, prompting city officials to impose tighter security, curfews, and alcohol restrictions.
What Happened?
Over the past week, police have responded to:
- Massive street parties turning violent
- Dozens of arrests for drug possession, disorderly conduct, and assault
- Vandalism and property damage to businesses along Ocean Drive
New Restrictions
- 8 p.m. alcohol ban on beaches and public areas
- Midnight curfew for non-residents
- Increased police presence, including SWAT teams
Mayor’s Response
Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber stated, “Spring Break has gotten out of control. We’re prioritizing safety over tourism this year.”
