The brother of the young mother slain in the collision says he has concerns about what caused his sister’s demise. The young driver and one of the passengers of an out-of-control BMW have died following a horrific weekend collision on the Belt Parkway.
Police sources claim that nobody in the deadly BMW was wearing a seat belt.
According to authorities, Noah Thompson, 24, and one of his four passengers, Jewel Perez, 22, were initially reported in critical condition after Thompson collided with a concrete divider at around 6 a.m. on Saturday while traveling east on the parkway toward the Cross Bay Blvd. exit in Howard Beach.
According to her brother Khaseim Perez, Jewel was a devoted and active mother who aspired to become a doctor so she could help others the way she always helped people.
According to police, the BMW crashed into the divider, flew into the air, and landed on the opposite side of the highway, where it collided with two other cars traveling in the opposite direction: a red Hyundai and a Honda CR-V. According to police officers, acquaintances, and family, Thompson and Perez both passed away at nearby hospitals.
According to sources, authorities wanted a warrant to test Thompson’s blood for alcohol before he passed away.
While the drivers of the CR-V and Hyundai were hospitalized in stable condition, Thompson’s three other passengers—a 21-year-old lady and two males, both 25—somehow only had minor injuries.
I have a few inquiries. According to Perez’s older brother Khasiem Perez, who spoke to the Daily News, it appears from the crash that there may have been a connection between alcohol and speeding. That more individuals weren’t gravely harmed or hurt surprises me.
Perez’s brother termed the Upper East Side resident’s death an unfathomable loss in a GoFundMe campaign, describing her as the mother of two young children, aged three and one.
Khaseim relocated to Virginia approximately nine years ago, although Perez and her two siblings were raised in New York City.
“A month ago, I spoke with her,” he continued. She informed me she wanted to be a nursing assistant the last time we spoke. I suppose she started [trying] to enter the nursing profession because she looked up to me as a nurse. That’s what she desired to accomplish.
Thompson triumphantly posed with the gleaming white BMW he subsequently crashed in his most recent Instagram image. He characterized himself as the kind of person who always beats the odds in a different post.
On social media, Thompson’s friends shared condolences.
Even though we haven’t spoken in a long time, you genuinely made an effort to see how I was doing. One buddy posted on Facebook, “Like no matter how many years go by, there was no love lost by you.”I never imagined learning about you in this way. When you were handling things alone, you were always the most intelligent person, the joker, and the one who cheered people up when they were feeling low.
A 72-year-old Jamaican neighbor of his who wished to remain anonymous said she found out about his passing on Monday morning. She claimed that when he was younger, she treated him like a son.
Noah was a kind young man. The neighbor answered, “He’s one of my babies.” He was a decent young man.
