According to authorities, a 52-year-old man’s decomposing body was found on a yacht anchored near Newtown Creek in Queens on Sunday.
Police received a 911 call just after noon from a bystander who saw the body in a sailboat anchored close to Long Island City’s Pulaski Bridge. The individual was declared dead at the spot by EMS.
The man’s death date was not readily apparent. The circumstances surrounding the death are being looked into by the city medical examiner’s office.
Until his family is informed, the man’s identity is being kept secret.
