21-year-old man in critical condition after shooting near Bronx pool

According to police on Sunday, a 21-year-old guy was shot and seriously injured outside of a Bronx neighborhood pool.

According to police, the man was shot in the neck at approximately 3:40 p.m. in Morrisania, close to Fulton Avenue and E. 173rd St. He was taken by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital, where his condition is still critical.

The incident happened right before the afternoon session at the nearby Crotona Park Pool commenced.

Police are still investigating, so no one was arrested right away.

Irvin Provitt, age 21, passed away at the end of May after being shot in the head at Crotona Park.

The playground where the shooting occurred is a danger place, according to a local resident who talked to the Daily News following Provitt’s passing.

According to 34-year-old Jennifer Ramos, it’s constantly hot. A lot of gang activity is always present. Particularly during the summer.
