To protest the passage of what President Trump refers to as the Big, Beautiful Bill, some 75 protesters staged a die-in across the street from Trump Tower.
It was dubbed the Murder Budget by the demonstrators.
The activists carried posters that said, “Musk Stole My Medicaid” and “Trump Did This.” Others signaled distress by holding the American flag upside down. They had wanted to demonstrate inside the lobby of Trump Tower, but were prevented from doing so by metal police gates on the pavement. Rather, at approximately 4:45 p.m., they laid down in the bus lane across the street from the skyscraper, close to Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

Physicians for a National Health Program NY Metro, Rise and Resist NYC, and Indivisible coordinated the demonstration.
