Legislators are set to approve a $58.8 billion state budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Monday, just before midnight, which will increase taxes on gambling, smoking, and the selling of luxury real estate in New Jersey.

Health benefits for state employees would also have to be reduced by $100 million as part of the new spending plan.
