Rutgers’ highly-disappointing 2024-25 season cemented with dismal Director’s Cup finish

The 2024–25 season was one of the most dismal months the Scarlet Knights have ever had, while having the potential to be the most successful season for Rutgers athletics in fifty years.

When the final rankings of the 2025 Learfield’s Director’s Cup were announced on Monday, that sentiment was solidified. The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) bestows the annual award, which uses a point system in NCAA championship events (including bowl games) for all sports to gauge how well college athletic departments are performing.
