Iconic fast-food chain making a surprising N.J. comeback after nearly disappearing

A once-dominant fast-food restaurant brand is making a resurgence in South Jersey.

According to the firm, the new Roy Rogers in Cherry Hill will have an opening ceremony on Wednesday at 10 a.m., and the public can enter at 10:30 a.m. At noon, the drive-through lane will open.

It joins the two Roy Rogers that are already operating in Ocean County, New Jersey, at Brick and Pine Beach.

According to a spokeswoman, the first 50 individuals in line at the new Cherry Hill restaurant will receive a reward: one complimentary normal combination meal per week for a period of 12 months using the Roy’s Rewards app.

According to the spokeswoman, everyone is allowed to line up at any time or participate in the opening ceremony celebrations.

Located in MarylandIn November, Roy Rogers Restaurants revealed plans to open its first new site in South Jersey in at least thirty years.

There were around 600 Roy Rogers restaurants in the United States during its peak, with over 100 located in New Jersey and three in Cherry Hill alone.

In November, the restaurant business informed NJ Advance Media that it was preparing a small return, beginning with the new Cherry Hill location.

Roy Rogers now operates 41 sites across five states, including the three in New Jersey, thanks to the Haddonfield Road facility.

Jim Plamondon, co-president of Roy Rogers Restaurants, said in a statement about the company’s opening day plans, “We are thrilled to make this long-anticipated return, and Cherry Hill allows us to serve a growing, diverse community and introduce a new generation to the quality and variety that makes Roy Rogers a cut above.”

The restaurant business was established in 1967 and is named after Roy Rogers, a pilot, singer, actor, and rodeo performer who appeared on The Roy Rogers Show in the 1950s with his wife, Dale Evans, and horse, Trigger. In 1998, he passed away.

At Fixin’s Bar, Roy Rogers specializes in fried chicken, roast beef, and hamburgers, and patrons can add pickles, tomatoes, and other toppings.

Rogers seemed proud of the eateries, although he never operated them. In a 1978 television ad, he greeted customers, praised the quality of the burgers, and held a tray of roast beef while sporting a cowboy hat.

According to the corporation, a donation to the Cherry Hill Public Library will be announced during the opening ceremony on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
