The intense heat on Tuesday afternoon caused two drawbridges to become stuck in the open position, resulting in the suspension of rail operations on a portion of NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line.
According to NJ Transitalerts, Coast Line trains between Middletown and Oceanport are partially suspended due to the Morgan Drawbridge in Sayreville and the Oceanport Drawbridge in Oceanport being locked in the open position.
