A beloved New Jersey steakhouse is closing its doors for a second summer in a row.
The Pub
, an iconic South Jersey restaurant located in Pennsauken, will shutter from June 30 through Sept. 19, an employee confirmed to NJ Advance Media in a phone call Wednesday.
The employee confirmed the eatery is closing to allow for renovations and repairs in the building as well as to let employees go on vacation.

The Pub will TEMPORARILY close for the summer from 6/30 to 9/18. We will re-open on
Fri 9/19.

This is not the first time The Pub has taken a summer hiatus. The restaurant was
closed for a similar period
last summer, from July 1 to Sept. 19 of 2024, also for repairs and renovations.
The 74-year-old steakhouse is heralded for its prime rib, baby back ribs, filet mignon, fried stuffed shrimp, flounder and grilled marinated chicken. Its prime cuts of meat are cooked on an open charcoal hearth. The restaurant also offers an extensive salad bar.
While the restaurant is known for its meats, the atmosphere is just as much a part of the dining experience. The Pub’s large dining area features low-lighting, stained glass windows, a bar and seating for 500 guests.
The esteemed eatery originally opened at 7600 Kaighn Ave. in 1951 as one of three restaurants in a local mini-chain. The other two Pubs were located in Philadelphia and closed during the ‘80s,
according to its website
. The Pub location in Pennsauken was rebuilt after the original building was burned down during a fire in 1960.
