Police investigate homicide of 91-year-old N.J. man

Authorities are investigating the death of a 91-year-old man that has been ruled a homicide.

Police were conducting a welfare check at an apartment on Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City’s McGinley Square neighborhood last Monday. When officers arrived, they found the victim, An Quan, who appeared to be in medical distress, the

Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office

said in a statement on Tuesday.

Quan was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Sunday, June 14, authorities said.

An autopsy has since determined the manner of death to be homicide, caused by blunt force trauma, officials said.

Detectives are still working to identify suspects. The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information to call its headquarters at 201-915-1345 or leave an anonymous tip at http://hcpo.org/tips.
