Essex County honors LGBTQ+ advocates at Pride Month celebration

Essex County recognized local LGBTQ+ advocates during its annual Pride Month celebration held today at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Justice Building in Newark.

County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr., along with the Essex County Office of LGBTQ Affairs and the Essex County Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning Advisory Board, presented Pride of Essex County Awards to East Orange Police Chief Phyllis Bindi, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Patrick Koslecki, and the Newark LGBTQ+ Center for their contributions to equality for members of the LGBTQ community.
