From the Coach

What This Team Does Better than Anybody:  We were top in the state rushing the past two seasons.

Biggest Surprise of the Off-season:  The return of senior Chris Mercer.

Team Goal:  To continue to build character, perseverance and commitment as a winning program.

Other Comments: We have good numbers of incoming freshman.

It’s been a lot of fun watching the development of the Sussex Tech football program the last few years.  At one point in time they were struggling to have enough players to field a team, now they leading the state in offensive output.  They did lose a lot of stellar athletes to graduation but I wouldn’t suggest selling your season tickets just yet.  Coach Stellingwerf has built a program and there are a host of players who have been waiting their turn to show off their stuff.  Prediction:  The Mustangs may feel the loss of their 2019 play-makers but as the season progresses, new stars will emerge.  I predict the Techies will surprise a lot of people and I expect them to continue to be the rushing powerhouse that they’ve been in recent years.
