From the Coach

What This Team Does Better than Anybody: I think we are very athletic and disciplined with a lot of experience at the skilled positions. I think on defense we will really fly to the ball.

Biggest Surprise of the Off-season: How well the team seams to be gelling

Team Goal: I told them if they go 6 and 0 we will hang a banner that says Confernce Champs and if they go 8 and 0 we’ll get them rings.

Marauder head coach Brian O’Connor was my teammate back when we played football for Hanover Park in the early 1990s.  And while the only time we were in the huddle together was when I was delivering him some high quality H2O, I have flashbacks of what a great leader he was every time I visit MO’s training camp.  I can remember being more afraid of O’Connor for dogging a sprint than our actual coach.  He was our best player and so driven for success and he made our entire team better by excepting nothing less than our best.  There is no doubt in my mind that he will soon be a state championship winning coach.  And it might just be this year…whatever that might look like in this Covid-19 year.  If this team does go 8-0 against this schedule, there is no doubt they’ll deserve the rings coach is promising.  Prediction:  There are going to be real matchups every week in this division and I cannot wait to see which team emerges at the top.  I can say with confidence, Mount Olive has the ability, coaching and mindset to be that team.
