The Staff

Head Coach:  Jason Luciani

Years on the Job:  8

Assistants:  Mark Mickens, Mike Meyers, Gary Struble, Tom Fischer, Dan Arabia, Don Dougherty, Rob Meyers, Connor Walsh & Pete Wolmart

Returning Varsity Players (from the coach):  Cris Verrico will move to QB from receiver.  Cris is fast and explosive.  Garrett Koppenal has a chance to break the school record for career tackles. Joe Conti is our returning running back and we expect him to carry a heavy load.

Player’s Expected to Step Up (from the coach): It’s been very hard to gauge due to lack of contact time. Sophomore Rocco Presti has been impressive in our backfield. Sophomore Josh Emann has done well as a receiver. Junior Hayden Ribaudo has looked good as a defensive back. Junior Chris Tortola has been impressive as a offensive and defensive lineman.

From the Coach

What This Team Does Better than Anybody:  We are Butler tough!

Team Goal:  We hope to bring our underclassmen along and be competitive in our games.

George Muha’s Take

Butler has done a fantastic job competing with their Passiac County foes.  Although I wish they were still competing against Morris-Sussex teams, it does appear they’ve found a new home with in their new conference.  PICK:  Not having Evan Smith on the roster for the first time in four years will be a weird adjustment at first.  But this team will settle in after they get a few games under their belt.  Even so, don’t be surprised if the Bulldogs come close to undefeated and are in the running for the division title.
