Coach’s Outlook:
We are returning 8 varsity players to our line-up, and 7 of those players were our core starters with a lot of game experience. Last season we suffered a handful of losses, with many of them being close games. This season I will be relying on our experienced core players (Ashley Romano, Abby Martin, Kailynn Pensado, Abby Roggenkamp, Ella Schoelier, Meghan DePalma Reese Vanderhoof, and Emily Wohlleber) and our newcomers to work together both offensively and defensively to get the job done. The Lady Cougars have worked very hard this off-season, which has made for a nice transition into preseason, giving us a solid foundation to work with. If their efforts in the off-season are any indication of the season to come, I am very excited for this team. Although we lack experience on the mound, I believe that with the help of our core players, especially our leader behind the plate (Emily Wohlleber) both Chadwick and Lightcap will step up and rise to the occasion

Although we have experience in our line-up, I will be looking to some of our younger players and newcomers, (Renee Slobodzian, Kierra Hubmaster, Gia Checo-Gonzalez, Gina Kropp, and Alaina Fusco) to step up and compete. Our infield will be led by seniors Ashley Romano and Abby Martin, both 3-year varsity starters, and our outfield returns the trio dynamic of Schoelier, Pensado and DePalma. Behind the plate we will be returning Emily Wohlleber who I will be relying on heavily to transition both pitchers on the mound.

They have spent all of their off-season and pre-season, honing in on the fundamentals, focusing on executing the little things, and becoming a family. I believe that this team has the means to win and stay in games, but it will come down to every person on the team to put forth their best effort in executing both offensively and defensively.

Benefit Games:
We will be playing in two charity games this season. Our first charity game (Strike out Cancer) will be against Vernon and our 2nd charity game (St.Judes Pediatric Cancer) will be an evening game in late May against Morris Catholic
