Team: Pequannock Boys Tennis

Coach: Matt Tuorto

Season’s with the Team: 4 seasons with girls team and 4 seasons with the boys team (8 altogether)

2019 Record: 5-8

Anticipated Varsity Players: Benjamin Stringer, Brian Western, Michal Magiera, Jesse Russo, Tyler Brown, Khalil Pirbhai (waiting for challenge matches to see who else)

Players on the Rise: Khalil Pirbhai (freshman)

Coach’s Outlook: A major goal for our team this year is to improve on our team record from last year and to win the conference. Although we lost a few starters, we are ready to work hard and improve. Our team’s biggest strength is our work ethic and drive to succeed. Everyone on our team wants one another to be successful and we are looking forward to a great season. In addition, our freshmen and sophomores have been learning from our upperclassmen and are excited to continue improving the game of tennis!

George Muha has been covering high school sports since 2006. He feels high school scholar-athletes are the most important part of the community and highlighting their achievements on the field, in the classroom and within the community is his personal mission.
