The Skinny & Prediction

  • This is the Year of the Techies in Sussex County with a talented group of seniors coming together with high hopes to do something special for Mustang Nation.
  • RB Brandon Hall and Bo Maroney had a coming-out party in their junior year, giving opponents a one-two punch.  Now bigger and stronger, teams will have a tough time game planning around these two.  Expect them to run behind 5-8, 230-pound lineman Ryan Marshall who’s been starting since his freshman year.
  • Tech has everything going for them and they’ll fare very well against their schedule.  They’ll face two tough teams in Morris Catholic and Wallkill Valley directly in the middle of their schedule.  If they can navigate through that part and finish strong, they should find themselves in the playoffs.
  • Last season, Tech finished 7-3 and were denied a playoff spot so they know every win counts.
  • Once in the postseason, the competition get’s real tough with teams like Lenape Valley, High Point, Hanover Park and Mountain Lakes all slated as preseason favorites to make it to the playoffs.  Facing those opponents won’t be easy but if Tech stays healthy and catches momentum at the right time, they might be able to position themselves to do something special.
