The Skinny & Prediction

  • How about a huge round of applause for Morris Knolls coach Bill Regan for his 45th season at the helm for the Golden Eagles.  The legendary coach reached the 250-win mark last season and keeps piling up the dubs.
  • For those outsiders, Regan runs a unique offense called the Houston Veer which is relies on a lot of nifty blocking and misdirection to confuse defenses.  This causes headaches for opponents because it is very difficult to prepare for as it’s nearly impossible for scout teams to replicate.
  • Defensive tackle Chris Tavarone will be a problem for most offenses.  The 6-4, 265-pounds senior isn’t slowed down by double teams and has a big wing span to easily knock down passes.
  • Getting through the regular season will be the trick for Knolls as the schedule is loaded with all Morris County powerhouses.  The good news is their regular season opponents will more than prepare them for their postseason opponents.  Morris Knolls can win playoff games, but qualifying against this killer schedule has to be the focal point.
