The Skinny & Prediction

  • Coach John Power is a football guy through and through.  He was a state championship quarterback at Union High School under Lou Rettino, he went on to play QB for the University of Georgia and was a recruiter for Penn State.  With that background, he knows what a winning football culture looks like and is doing a great job to create that in Morristown.
  • Morristown has struggled as of recent, not winning more than two games in the last three years.  But the vibe in camp is a lot different this year, now that the current seniors have been through Coach Power’s system for all four years.
  • Receiver Jason Jones is an amazing athlete and one of the top receivers in all of Morris-Sussex.  QB Jackson Willette and RB Quron Lattimore are both formidable weapon so opposing defenses will need to pick their poison on every given play.
  • Morristown will compete against everyone on their schedule this year and five wins should be enough to get into the Second Season.  Even though they are a Group 5 school, their mostly Group 4 opponents will certainly prepare them for the postseason because of the level opponents they are.  The trick will be getting those five wins.  Against this schedule, it’s easier said then done.
