The Skinny & Prediction

  • It’s no secret Parsippany has had more downs than ups over the last 20-years.  But throw all that out the window because this 2019 wants to hear none of that.  And rightfully so because this team is loaded with talented players with loads of varsity experience, they’ve been training like they expect to win every game and they have a chip on their shoulder the size of Lake Parsippany.
  • Nana Agyemang is one of the most dynamic players in Morris-Sussex and is a touchdown threat every time he touches the ball.  But this team is by no means a one-star program.  There will be multiple play-makers making the headlines every single week.
  • Coach Hurta and his son Jared are one of three Morris-Sussex father-and-son combo/coach-and-player combos this season.  Whippany Park coach Don Morganroth and his son Hunter and Butler coach Jason Luciani and his son Jake are the others.  Since Hurta has always been involved with his son, this group of seniors has known him since the early elementary school years.
  • When your good, the fans come out so the Redhawks will be playing in front of crowded stadiums.  With opponents like Passaic Valley, Mountain Lakes, Boonton, Wallkill Valley and Kittatinny all slated to be playoff contenders, those games should be in front of fans in the four-figure range regularly.
  • Parsippany plays in North, Group 2 which will feature playoff regulars like Westwood, Newton, Lyndhurst, Mahwah and Verona.  Regular season foe Kittatinny is the team to beat in that section so getting a regular season look at them will surely play dividends.
  • Make no bones about it, you can expect this Parsippany team to be in the playoffs.  This squad appears to be better than they even realize so expect them to get better and gain more confidence as they pile up wins.  It’s been a long time that anyone has slated the Redhawks as the front runner so its an exciting time for this school as this team is built to go the distance.
